13 Things To Stop Doing ASAP (That'll Move Your Life Forward)
…because life is like riding a bicycle 🚲 in order to keep your balance, you must keep moving.
1. Stop making assumptions when you can ask questions. After all, thoughts are not facts.
2. Stop doing it all alone. Ask for help when you need it and allow people to help you.
3. Stop taking criticism from people you’d never go to for advice.
4. Accept that you can’t receive “closure” in every situation, but you can create it for yourself.
5. Let go of resentment. Some people won’t ever apologize (bc they physically or emotionally can’t). Forgive them anyway.
6. Stop letting people’s opinions define you. Someone’s inability to recognize your worth doesn’t change your value.
7. Comparison (bc it’s the literal thief of joy). There's no comparison between the sun and the moon. They each shine when it's their time
8. Trying to change people. Accept that you can’t change anyone but yourself (no matter how much you think they need to change). People need to want to change themselves and take actions to do so.
9. Let go of any possessions that no longer bring you joy (decluttering your space does wonders for your anxiety). There is freedom in living light.
10. Stop giving people who make you feel like $#^* access to your energy. Your circle should want you to win. They should clap loudly when you have good news. If they don’t, get a new circle.
11. Negative self-talk. It’s hard to expect other people to love you when you don’t even love yourself. Treat yourself like you want others to treat you.
12. Failing to care for your physical health. It’s not cute. If we can learn anything from a pandemic, it’s that health should be prioritized above all else. Failing to do so can negatively impact you + the world around you.
13. Stop complaining about things that you’re not changing. Use your voice, influence and energy on tangible actions that bring change (like voting, donating your time and resources to causes that break your heart, actively being anti-racist, exercising, going to therapy)—put your actions where your words (and social media posts) are.
Find your balance, babe.
