5 Things to that help me feel grounded & calm

1. Come Back to the Present: Begin by noticing 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. This exercise is a reminder that right now, in this moment, you are here, and all is well.

2. Breathe with Intention: Take a deep breath in for 7 counts, hold it for 1, and then release it slowly for 8. Each breath is an opportunity to reset, to let go, and to embrace the calm that is always within you. Pro tip: If you’re able to do this outside in fresh air, I find it brings even more peace.

3. Wrap Yourself in Comfort: Find your favorite blanket and wrap it around you, letting yourself feel the warmth and safety it provides. This simple act of self-care is a way of saying, “You come first and nothing is more important than making sure you feel safe, calm and nurtured.”

4. Visualize Zen: Close your eyes and imagine a place that brings you peace. See it, hear it, feel it. This vision is your sanctuary—a space you can return to whenever you need to recharge.

5. Focus on What’s in Front of You: Ground yourself by counting the objects around you or by counting backward from 100. This practice brings your mind back from wandering, back to where your power lies—in the present.
