Rosé Cider is a Thing + It Has Summer 2018 Written All Over It
Rosé cider is being called called this season's it beverage. I mean, are you surprised? Rosé and cider are two of the greatest drinks on the planet. Marry the two and magic is bound to happen. According to the Executive Director of the U.S. Association of Cider Makers, Michelle McGrath, cider is an incredible beverage for food pairing. It's lighter and more refreshing than most wines, which makes it easy to combine with food. It's best served with warm-weather favorites like oysters, meats and cheese spreads, and salads, and makes for easy warm weather drinking.
While rosé ciders are just starting to take off nationally, pink ciders aren't exactly new to the alcohol industry. "It started with the heritage cider makers, then it went to smaller local and regional cider companies, and now the national brands are making rosé ciders as well," McGrath says of the trend. So while the newer offerings (like Brosé) have been in the spotlight recently, there are a plenty of pink-hued options out there.
I'm pretty sad because 2018 is a booze free year for me (had surgery recently and have had to banish a few things from my diet, including rosé *gasp*), it doesn't mean I can't do a little research on what the rosé cider market has to offer.
