Food + Fashion Meet At These 10 Haute Restaurants
If I'm being honest - my travel itineraries usually revolve around food and fashion. So, it only makes sense to stop at a high-fashion foodie destination when locale allows. This trend has been catching on among designers in the last few years and looks like it's here to stay.
Gucci recently opened its Gucci Garden, Elle reported, a gorgeous property that is home to a new restaurant by a three-Michelin-starred chef. But, wait...there's more, like the uber fancy exhibition and screening rooms.
The good news? While a handbag from your favorite designer may set you back several pretty pennies, a meal (or even latte) from one of these fashion houses is just as instagrammable and way easier on your wallet.
Here are 10 of my favorite designer foodie destinations (some I've visited and others still on my list):
1. Gucci Garden, Florence, Italy
The brand behind those incredible loafers and fanny packs everyone and their mom wants (literally) has just opened their epic garden in Italy. Stop by for dinner, a gander through the exhibitions, and a movie in the screening room.
2. The Blue Box Café, New York, New York
Breakfast at Tiffany’s used to mean laying on your couch to watch the Audrey Hepburn flick or chomping on a flaky croissant outside your local Tiffany’s window. The new-ish NYC restaurant lets you live out your dreams and actually have breakfast at Tiffany’s.
3. Bar Luce, Milan, Italy
Prada and the aesthetics-obsessed moviemaker Wes Anderson teamed up to design and conceptualize this one-of-a-kind hangout in Milan. This pairing is so epic that a visit to Bar Luce is a must.
4. Ralph’s, Paris, France
Plaid lovers unite! Ralph Lauren has several restaurants and bars around the world, but this Parisian spot is seriously ridiculous. It’s a serious must while in Paris!
5. Ceresio 7, Milan, Italy
Oh, Saint Tropez...keeper of my heart! Dior Café automatically gets bonus points for being located in such a dreamy town. This place is seriously an Instagrammer's dream. Make a reservation or prepare to wait to be seated in the picturesque garden. Also, even if you don't drink coffee (me) then make sure someone in your party orders the latté because you're gonna want the photo.
7. THOMAS'S CAFE AT BURBERRY, London, England
Thomas's serves British classics like fish and chips and (my personal favorite) afternoon tea. True to the brand's philosophy, all ingredients served at Thomas's are sourced from around the UK.
8. VOGUE CAFÉ, Moscow, russia
Vogue Russia has always been known for it's trailblazing, fashion forward ways and all things haute couture. So makes total sense that the it-magazine of fashion would choose to open up their only restaurant in Moscow.
9. ROSE BAKERY AT DOVER STREET MARKET, BY COMME DES GARÇONS, New York, New York
Just like the brand, you can expect chill and hip vibes at the Rose Bakery by Comme des Garçons. With locations in Tokyo, Beijing and New York, the Comme des Garçons-owned Dover Street Market franchises provide a memorable fashion and shopping experience.
10. BEIGE AT CHANEL, Tokyo, Japan
Calling all Coco lovers! Breathtaking views from the top of the Chanel Ginza building paired with big name chef, Alain Ducasse? The collaboration between the chef known for his three-Michelin-starred restaurants and the fashion label started in 2004 and is still going strong, serving the finest French cooking with handpicked Japanese ingredients. Except an ambiance that is super beige, super elegant and super Chanel.
