San Francisco Staycation: Double the Adventure + Double the Points with Chase

One of the greatest philosophers of our time, Anthony Bourdain, recently said "anyone who doesn't have a great time in San Francisco is pretty much dead to me." Which is why when given the chance to explore a city for a weekend, it's hard to not want to choose San Francisco every single time

When I partnered with Chase for their #DoubleStayGo program, choosing San Francisco as my vacation destination was a no-brainer. Now through April 15th, you can earn double the points and double the miles when using the Marriott Rewards, United Club or United Explorer Card credit cards. For my staycation, it was important to me that I make time to explore quintessential San Francisco and play tourist in my own city. I made plans to do things I always recommend to visitors, but never make time for myself. In the spirit of earning double the points, I put together an itinerary for myself and my two bffs that included activities that go hand-in-hand.

Whether you're visiting San Francisco for the first time, planning a romantic date for you and BAE or are a resident who wants to make the most of the City by the Bay - these activity pairings are everything you need to experience San Francisco.

1. Bike the Golden Gate Bridge X Ice Cream in Sausalito

Lucky for me, Karl the Fog was on vacation too and it was clear skies for my bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. The route is friendly for anyone who feels relatively comfortable on a bicycle - I was surprised at how many young children were riding alongside me.

Of course, I had to find time to treat myself after that bike ride. Can you blame me? Stopping for old fashioned, freshly scooped ice cream in Sausalito made that trek across the bay oh so worth it.

2. Farm to Table Dinner X Movie at the Presidio Theatre

San Francisco is a foodie's playground. There is absolutely no shortage of incredible restaurants serving farm to table, fresh Californian cuisine. I grabbed my girls and headed down to the Marina District to grab a delicious bite to eat before we headed to the historic and charming Presidio Theatre for an Oscar nominated movie.

3. Farmer's Market X Picnic at the Palace of Fine Arts

One of the biggest perks of living in the Bay Area is fresh, local produce. I love going to the Farmer's Market (there are so many to choose from in San Francisco throughout the week) and stocking up on nature's bounty.

While staycationing, it was important to me to practice the art of slow living and really enjoy the pictuesque (so many Instagram opps, amirite?!) outdoors that we're so lucky to enjoy in San Francisco. A picnic in the park with my best girls was the perfect way to spend a day in the Bay.

After each activity, we got to go back to our gorgeous room at the Hotel Adagio, a Marriott Autograph Collection property, in the heart of the city. With two restaurants on property and everything we needed to feel like we were truly on vacation, we loved relaxing and getting some self-care in at the end of each day.

Did you know that San Francisco is a major United Airlines hub? It’s so easy to get to this gorgeous city by the bay from anywhere in the world by flying United!

Thanks to the #DoubleStayGo program, the only thing on my mind is where to travel to next with United Airlines and which Marriott property I want to stay at. BRB planning my next getaway!
