Bridal Beauty essentials

Here to give you the full run down on my beauty essentials as a bride! I have curated every detail about my special day and the many months leading up to it. From skincare to hair, makeup, and nails, I am sharing it all and what made me feel confident on this magical day.

Skincare Treatment & Routine

I do not take my skincare lightly and have always had a regimented skincare routine, in fact, I started prepping my skin nine months before my wedding. I knew I wanted to have my best skin walking down the aisle so I worked with David Shafer to come up with a plan that best suited my bridal skincare goals.

While working closely with one of his estheticians at the Shafer clinic, she expressed that “leading up to your wedding day, it’s important to put yourself first in ways that make you feel your best. My favorite way to help brides prepare for their big day is with a DiamondGlow® facial.  DiamondGlow® is a next-level skin resurfacing technology that does more than just skim the surface. This powerful facial treatment simultaneously exfoliates, extracts, and treats the skin for results that last. It infuses the skin with exclusive SkinMedica® Pro-Infusion Serums at the moment of exfoliation, when pores are most receptive, maximizing every second of the treatment to support skin health and improve patient outcomes.

Three weeks before, I also got a facial known as a "mini Fraxel.” “The glow-inducing Clear & Brilliant® facial uses a fractional laser to rejuvenate skin from the inside out. The pulsating light gently penetrates the skin, creating micro-injuries that trigger the production of collagen and cellular repair--nudging fresh, new skin to the surface. It's minimally invasive and optimal results appear within one week. It's great for anyone who isn't quite ready for a Fraxel laser, or simply wants remarkable results with next to no downtime. And it delivers on its name--you'll see clear, brilliant skin that's younger-looking, smoother, softer and more even-toned after just one treatment.”

There was definitely a lot of prepping that went into my skincare, but I couldn't have been happier with the results on my big day,

My beauty Vision

Lucas Dean and I have worked together for years and I let him choose the inspiration for the big day. Lucas was the only vendor I knew I had to fly out to be with us in Mexico, not just because he’s an incredibly talented makeup artist, but because he’s familiar and always makes me feel at ease. I knew I wanted him with me every time I got ready because he would calm my nerve. Since we had 4 events to create looks for, going to Lucas to have my makeup done was a moment each day where I got to escape from hustle and bustle of the wedding weekend to have some peace, quiet and moments of reflection. Having someone I trust and admire with me was imperative to my mental health. We worked together and he chose a timeless look inspired by Adele that would capture my best self.  Lucas’ specializes in making them feel like their best self no matter what that is - serves a you but better vibe. The look had a defined wing with natural shadow to make me feel bright and ethereal. Lucas stayed with me throughout the night at each event to touch me up because every night was filled with late night dancing and tropical humidity. Another line item that I am so glad I didn’t skimp on.

Key Makeup products

Charlotte Tilbury and Makeup by Mario were essential products that were used in my beauty look.  I also have dry skin so we wanted to make sure I felt dewy and glowy so we used Babor Hydra Liquid foundation and concealer.  Since I spent a lot of time getting skincare treatments I opted for makeup that has skincare benefits to keep my skin nourished after long days by the pool with guests.

Hair Vision

We decided to go with an elevated natural hair style. I wanted to have fun with my hair but still look naturally like me. I did three different hairstyles for different parts of the wedding with Jennifer Behr hair accessories.

My hairstyle was inspired by myself - I wanted to feel authentic to who I am and what I feel comfortable with.  I didn't want to do anything new or that didn't feel like me.  It was important to stay authentic to myself and my personal style that I feel very comfortable in.

nails

I have probably been thinking about my wedding nails since I was 5 years old. I have always been a manicure obsessed girly. My nails are naturally really short, thin and brittle, so I spent a lot of time trying to get them to a healthy place. I even did 3 rounds of IBX nail repair treatments to get my nails stronger so they could be natural and long on my wedding day. While I love a colorful manicure for my day to day life, I wanted a timeless look and opted for one coat of OPI Funny Bunny and two coats of OPI Bubble Bath for the perfect bridal blush nude. I was inspired by Hailey Bieber’s pearl pink manicure, as I think she has nailed down the ✨barely there but better✨ vibe.

Fragrance

I am a huuuge scent person and I love the way it helps set the mood and vibe, so I knew choosing a scent was important and would create a core memory. It was really important for me to choose a fragrance that was special and would transport me back to my wedding day for years to come. I wanted to pick a classic but light and airy scent that also would have a matching candle that I could burn in the room when getting ready. I chose Parfums de Marly, Delina Eau de Parfum. This sent is “the perfect touch of modern femininity and sensorial delight capturing the beauty of its wearer. Presented in a powdery pink attire and composed around a harmony of Turkish rose that encapsulates sensuality, freshness and luxuriousness, the perfume takes aesthetes and connoisseurs through an overarching narrative of mystery and charm.”

I couldn’t recommend this perfume enough.
